GIS
What is GIS?
A geographic information system (GIS) integrates hardware, software, and data for
capturing, managing, analyzing, and displaying all forms of geographically referenced
information.
GIS allows us to view, understand, question, interpret, and visualize data in many
ways that reveal relationships, patterns, and trends in the form of maps, globes,
reports, and charts.
A GIS helps you answer questions and solve problems by looking at your data in a
way that is quickly understood and easily shared.
GIS technology can be integrated into any enterprise information system framework.
Jeraisy Computer & Communication Services - GIS Department- is a fully
specialized in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing. We offer
complete solutions, in addition to a full range of quality assured services covered
GIS training, GIS Data services, and applications.
AT Jeraisy, we understand the critical GIS needs of our customers; therefore we
offer GIS services across multiple verticals and have the right domain expertise
in each vertical to capture our customer's requirements accurately and to convert
them into high quality deliverables.
In every engagement, we ensure that we bring in the best of our corporate experience,
technical knowledge and delivery capabilities to service our customer and deliver
highest quality outputs. We use an assortment of application tools, which we have
built over years of GIS project delivery experience over multiple vertical and thereby
ensure quick response to our customer needs.
Jeraisy Vision at the GIS:
Geo-information technology provides a sound basis for intelligent decision-making,
management of resources, providing services to public and citizens, planning, land
use, public utilities, business applications, etc. Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
(KSA) is fully aware of the importance of geo-information
technologies and their
great role in collecting, storing, using, analyzing and outputting all type of geo-information
so that administration and services can be accomplished more reliably and economically.
Therefore, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has decided to launch the GIS Solutions.
It is very important to understand key points in any successful GIS establishment
in order to achieve objectives successfully. Any GIS consists of three main components:
i) graphical and attribute data, ii) staff / organization, iii) hardware
/ software. Almost 95% of the investment in any GIS establishment goes to data and
staff / organization. The rest goes to hardware / software which can be fulfilled
by almost any known market vendor. So, the most significant part of any GIS is the
establishment of a seamless geodatabase consisting of maps, images, and customer’s
layers, all properly georeferenced, rectified and integrated.
The establishment of a complete GIS database mentioned above requires specialists
who are qualified and experienced in all fields of geoinformation disciplines ranging
from geodetic network, surveying and mapping, photogrammetry, image processing,
data conversion and integration, navigation & vehicle tracking, GIS / LIS to
programming.
In
summary, Jeraisy Computer and communication services- GIS department- intends to
provide best services available worldwide according to national and international
specifications and set a successful example in the region so that this technology
can grow further in the region. We will work in close cooperation with client to
hand over the solution gradually at the end of users, to trained qualified personnel
who will be capable to handle, update and operate the system in future.
